Short-term therapy
I sometimes offer short-term contracts of 6, 8, 10 or 12 weeks. Sessions can either be of 50 or 75 minutes duration, which is your choice. Short-term work is most suitable for a single issue, during a difficult period where you feel you would benefit from some extra support, or to support you to make a decision.
Currently I have availability for short-term work of 6 weeks to 6 months. Examples of the type of issues suitable for short-term work are:
- I have been thinking about having sex with people outside of my relationship and want to process potentially opening up the relationship, and talk about how to address this with my partner and negotiate needs and boundaries.
- I am considering changing my career and need some guidance in exploring what this might mean, and some support in dealing with the anxiety surrounding the change.
- I have been feeling flat but can't figure out why and would like someone to facilitate an exploration of what's going on for me and potentially develop some mindfulness skills.
- I relocated and am struggling to adjust.
- I have been experiencing feelings around my gender and want to process them in a safe space with an informed person within the queer community, and get some information about gender identity and presentation, medical interventions, etc.
- I have a fetish which causes me shame and/or confusion and I want to understand this more.
- I am experiencing shame around my identity/my body image, and want to explore that.
